The 3rd edition of the Volcom banked slalom at Kitzsteinhorn was another one to put in the books! It all started with a good snow dump before the weekend that made shapers shovel extra hard, but also stoked out some early arrival competitors with some powder turns. It continued with two consecutive days of sunshine, allowing everyone to shred the snowparks in between race runs with the best conditions you could get. This year’s course was again just over 1min, so legs, hearts and breath were reasonably tested, but depending on your finish time your ego could be severely tested, especially if you’re a seasoned guide from Chamonix or a quad-corking park ripper and you get beaten by a 17 years old girl, which can happen in this kind of event. Some legends and pros were on the start list along with locals, speed freaks from all over Europe and snowboarding enthusiasts which made for a great mix of people and a great weekend! Check out the photos and full results below! The day ended with the Volcom Castle Rock Out, a massive party at the medieval castle of Kaprun, starting with The Black Tambourines, playing their party fueled garage rock from London, and continuing with headliners Mozes And The Firstborn from Netherlands, partying with everyone while playing and finishing with DJ Stephan Rathgeb who kept the spirits high and Austrian refreshments flowing all nite.

Alex Botelho - the big man from the Volcom surf team - launched his new surf movie from Portugal. Alex is well known to be one of the best European big wave riders, but this is a reminder that he is also a talented surfer in "normal waves".
Sit back and enjoy this psychedelic edit from one of our favorite free surfer in Europe.
Great job Alex.
If you find yourself strolling through the beauty aisle in your local drugstore looking for a body scrub, look no further. We happened to find the easiest body scrub recipe on the planet (and the best might we add). Not only does is smell amazing, it also does wonders on your skin!
Our Salt and Sand collection has inspired us in many ways and this DIY is a great example!
What you need
- Coconut Oil (melted) - 3 tablespoons
- Himalayan Sea Salt (fine) - 6 tablespoons
- Rose Essential Oil - 12 drops
- Air tight container
If you're wondering where to buy Rose Oil, we found ours at Mother's Market. It is also available on the internet. Everything else is probably already in your kitchen cabinet. (Didn't we say it was going to be easy?)
First, melt your coconut oil so that it becomes fluid and easy to mix.
Pour the salt into the melted coconut oil.
Add a few drops of your Rose Oil (10 - 12 should do).
Mix together and voila! There you have it. Easy peasy.
Keep your scrub in an air tight container to keep the moisture locked in. Use it whenever you feel like your skin is in dire need of some R&R! It also makes an amazing gift!
Despite the bad forecast, the event was a blast ! More than 200 Kids signed up to the contest and enjoyed two days of small but playful Hossegor waves.
As some had to secure their spot for the TCT global Championships in Lower Trestles, California, there was some pressure on some surfers and the level of surfing and competitiveness was at its max...
Squid's level of surfing has been amazing through the event keoni Lasa.
Surfers from Portugal, Spain, Italy and Canary Islands made the trip to France and had to compose with all top French locals and regulars, which made for a big Euro surf gathering.
The tension and competition was fierce in the water but beach games and usual shenanigans kept the spirits high and jolly.
Check out the photos below to get a better taste of what went down.
