A Utah Mountain Bike Odyssey feat. Sam Hodgson
Shot across the rugged and raw landscapes of Utah, this film is a testament to unfiltered talent, relentless dedication, and the sheer joy of riding.

"Mad 4 It" was born from "a bit of destiny, a bit of planning," as Hodgy puts it. The project began in Green River, which then naturally evolved into a broader exploration of Utah along side his fiancé Vero Sandler, talented filmer Callum Philpott and rider Zach Rainbow. The crew logged an "insane week of digging and filming; we’d dig all day and film until dark,” uncovering new features and refining old lines, culminating in a selection of Sam’s sickest clips of the year. The journey continued to the iconic Rampage sites in Virgin, Utah, where they “rode some insanely sick spots and were very well taken care of by the amazing local scene over there; Tyler James, the Santa Cruz crew and the Shred Shed boys.”

Choosing Callum to film was a no-brainer for Hodgy as the pair have “worked on loads of projects together and we love each other. I feel like if anybody is going to take care of my artistic and creative side; it’s Callum.” Hodgy continued: "we really worked together on all aspects; every shot in the video, we'd chat out and get ideas," Hodgy explained, emphasising the collaborative element. "We both managed to come out with an end product that we were so proud of." This creative synergy shines through every frame, capturing the raw energy and unparalleled skill that defines Hodgy’s riding.

Speaking on the support from Volcom for the project, Hodgy is grateful for the opportunity: “Riding for Volcom is beyond a dream come true" continued Hodgy, “I’m super stoked to be able to rep such hard garms and it’s mind-blowing that I get to shred mountain bikes in this brand I’ve always loved.” He continued on that “I’m so proud to be able to offer the culture of mountain biking through Volcom’s platforms” underpinning their commitment to supporting boundary-pushing athletes and authentic storytelling.
