Volcom is back with its contest series for the youth, combining this year a PanEuropean digital qualifier (July 1st – August 31st 2023) and a main event to crown the winners this Winter in Tenerife (February 17-18 2024)!

With an updated format, Volcom Surf Happenings provides a fun platform for competing surfers from all over Europe to showcase their skills.

The qualifying process being easier and the main event having an original and modern format with tons of prizes and 4000€ of prize money to split in between women’s and men’s divisions, this is an event you don’t want to miss!

The series are open to European surfers under 16 years old when qualifiers resume (born after August 31st 2006). Follow @volcomhappening for contest news.

Online Qualifier event is now over and we've seen entries from all over Europe, the future looks bright! Big thanks to all entrants!

Our judges had some work done and scored each surfer best maneuver and top wave from competitor’s Instagram submissions.

Volcomgratulations to the top 20 Women and Men who qualify to the main event (Punta del Hidalgo in Tenerife)!

Next 10 surfer of each division will be on the main event alternate list and will be notified ASAP if spots are available.

QUALIFIER RULES:

SUBMIT BEST WAVE AND BEST MANOEUVER OF YOUR SUMMER through an Instagram post, including time and location and contest tags #volcomsurfhappening & @volcomhappening.

Starting July 1st ending August 31st 2023

Must be filmed IN EUROPE DURING THIS SUMMER

Parent or guardian sign up online for the competitors, accepting the rules and conditions clearly announced.

All entries were JUDGED after submission deadline (September 2023).

Top 20 women and Top 20 men will QUALIFY to the main event + Alternate list.

COMPETITORS CAN SUBMIT AS MANY POSTS AS THEY WANT

4000€ PRIZE PURSE + TONS OF PRIZES FROM VOLCOM AND SPONSORS
LUNCH, DINNER PROVIDED AND SIDE ACTIVITIES THROUGHOUT THE WEEKEND & HANGOUT WITH VOLCOM SURF TEAM

Each competitor will surf THREE TIMES 20min heats of 4 competitors throughout the event and will be filmed /scored by Volcom Team riders and Seasoned judges.

3 MAIN CHALLENGES BEING JUDGED/ SCORED:
- BEST WAVE OF THE EVENT (EACH DIVISION): 800€ (RUNNER UP:400€)
- BEST MANOEUVER OF THE EVENT (EACH DIVISION): 300€ (RUNNER UP 100€)
- STYLE/FLOW AWARD (EACH DIVISION): 300€ (RUNNER UP 100€)
